NIMSA's first event of 2008
The
Antrim hills was the location for Nimsa's first slope event for 2008. Ten local
pilots and two visiting pilots from the Dungannon club and Newtonards, climbed
the short distance to the east facing slope of the 'Bowl', and enjoyed a fantastic
days flying of unlimited lift in the 20mph winds blowing in from the coast. Gliders
from scale to simple wings, soared high across the peaceful landscape and at one
stage with seven gliders in the air all at once, competition for the best lift
became intense, with many gliders only yards apart in the raising air.
If
you would like to try slope soaring the next slope event will be held on the 24th
Feb 2008 at 12.00pm, for further information contact Bill Scott, or visit ww.nimsa.co.uk
